I'll dominate 'legitimate boxer' Jake Paul - Joshua
The British boxer prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight round fight which will be streamed live on Netflix.
Briton Anthony Joshua said he will "dominate completely" the American and "defeat" his opponent as the pair came face-to-face to build hype for the upcoming heavyweight fight.
Former two-time world title holder Joshua faces YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a massive uneven pairing - at Miami venue on 19 December.
Boxer's Attitude
"I plan to break his face and hurt his body. My goal is to show I'm superior," Joshua, 35 years old, stated.
"I plan to overwhelm him. That's the boxer's mindset.
"I will genuinely try to hurt him. That's what I want to do."
Respectful Interaction
In spite of these statements, a composed Joshua and social media star Paul - normally known for his theatrics - shared friendly words and maintained decorum with each other.
Paul instead criticized ex Joshua's opponent Francis Ngannou and called him "not serious" after the Cameroonian rejected a bout proposal.
Taking Aim at Tyson Fury
Joshua, meanwhile, took aim at British rival Tyson Fury - and declined a million-pound wager 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a Paul win.
"[Paul] is superior to Fury - he showed up," Joshua commented.
"I acknowledge that."
Serious Fighter
Despite saying he intends to damage his opponent, Joshua refused to speak negatively about his rival's boxing ability.
"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he remarked.
Paul's History
Jake Paul - who initially became famous on the television network - has primarily fought mixed martial artists or declining opponents since turning professional.
He lost to British fighter Tommy Fury in 2023.
Financial Attraction
Nevertheless, the relative newcomer is still one of the sport's biggest money-making draws, consistently making massive earnings.
Prediction and Belief
The 28 year old anticipated a stoppage in rounds four or five and stated he would derail the much-anticipated Joshua–Fury fight, which is allegedly under discussion for 2026.
"It will be my match with Fury next year," Jake Paul stated.
Size Disparity
As the two fighters engaged in the traditional stare-down, with their size difference clearly visible, it highlighted just how surprising this whole event is - and how amazing it is that the fight is actually happening.
